The background story to the embroidery:

One evening, I was sitting feeling hopeless and despairing, yet at the same time I wanted to express the deep love and kinship I feel for the Iranian people. And images began to appear in my mind of how this kinship could be depicted through embroidery. I sketched and pondered symbols until the lions, which we share, appeared. Among other things, the lions represent strength and courage. Both the Israeli and Iranian people have demonstrated incredible, genuine courage. A courage that most people in the West cannot understand or relate to.
